Składniki / Ingredients:

  • 500 g beef for stew cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 red onion diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked pepper powder
  • 1 fresh chili pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of stock
  • 1/4 glass of dry red wine
  • 6 dried dates
  • 4 dried plums
  • 200 ml tomatoes from the can
  • 200 grams of canned chickpeas
  • 3 tablespoons tagine pasta
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (freshly ground black pepper)

Sposób wykonania / Instructions:

  • Place a tablespoon of oil to a large pot with a thick bottom, then add the diced onion. Add another tablespoon of oil and add garlic, cloves, bay leaf and spices (oregano, cumin, paprika, chili, cinnamon). Fry the whole for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add meat and fry till brown.
  • Pour the wine and stock, boil everything. Put dried plums and dates. Then add tomatoes and salt and pepper to taste. Cover with lid and simmer at minimum heat about 1 and 1/2 hour until the meat is soft.
  • In the end, add the drained chickpeas and the tagine paste. Cook everything (all the time on low heat under covefor about 30 minutes. You can add plum jam to your taste if necessary.
